What's the role about?

This position is based at GKN Automotive Eskişehir. The value stream engineer will follow production performance indicators and manage continuous improvement & VA-VE activities in line with the commodity strategy. In accordance with production standards, bottle-neck detection, cycle time improvement, SMED, 5S, Kaizen, process audits, other related tasks will be carried out. We’re looking for a teammate who has a good command of the lean enablers methodology,  proactivity, analytical thinking skills, and excellent communication skills.

Detailed Description

What will you do?

  • Follow up on production continuity and lead the team well.
  • Track and report quality & productivity KPIs
  • Manage collaborative projects with quality, logistics and manufacturing engineering departments.
  • Create and Review of standard work instruction, PY, FPPO and production documentation.
  • Facilitate problem solving
  • Ensure the implementation of characteristic management (CC/SC) at the shop floor.
  • Digitize and visualize shop floor performance.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industry Engineering or Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
  • Formal problem-solving skills (5WHYs, 8D, fishbone, PPS, etc);
  • Practical use of AIAG Core quality tools, i.e. SPC, APQP, MSA, FMEA and PPAP;
  • Machining and Assembly knowledge would be beneficial;                                                                                                                                                               
  • Worked within Automotive industries using AITF ISO 16949;
  • Capability to work in teams as leader or team member, must be a strong collaborator;
  • Ability to travel
  • Complex negotiation skills;
  • Ability to manage own time and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
