What’s the role about?

  • Provide leadership and direction to suppliers to ensure compliance to GKN’s Supplier Standards, QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery) performance process requirements,
  • AITF 16949 quality systems, AQP, and PPAP processes.
  • Ensure KPIs are measured and managed and that results are reported.
  • Collaborate with SQ community both Regional and Global.
  • Lead CI/VAVE activities assigned.
  • Lead APQP activities for assigned suppliers and programs

Detailed Description

What you’ll do?

  • Programme APQP for Regionally based Suppliers
  • Remote Run & Rate capacity documentation Reviews and confirmation
  • Pre – Review and develop PPAP with Suppliers to allow “CSQ” to sign with no further issues
  • Approve PPAP’s for all GKN sites when part is use in multiple locations, avoiding duplication of activities @ local Plant
  • Input for Risk Assessment for Programs
  • Support sourcing and nomination processes
  • Critical Characteristic management implementation and Traceability assessment per component
  • Complaint Management – Structured Problem solving (using A3, 8D, PDCA, FTA) including auditing to validate actions
  • Audits to VDA 6.3 and CQI Special process assessment
  • VA/VE validations at Suppliers
  • Identify and lead suppliers through TOP Focus / Escalation Process

What are we looking for?

  • Engineering degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Material Engineering or Quality Management
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Formal problem-solving skills (5WHYs, 8D, fishbone, PPS, etc.)
  • Experience with core quality tools, APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP and SPC
  • Practical auditing experience to VDA 6.3 and Special process audit check lists such as CQI 9 and CQI 12
  • Have experience working in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams

 The successful candidate will have experience in some or all of the following:

  • Basic knowledge about machining processes
  • Understand principles of special processes: Heat Treatment, Coating, Plating , Welding, Rubber & Plastics, Bearings and Sheet Metal
  • Strong communication in English is essential
