The Role: 

We are seeking an Software Engineering Project Leader  to join our team. The role can be based in the office or remotely with time in the engineering lab when required. This role adds value by planing and executing a Software Development program

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Software Engineering program team in all relevant ASPICE processes SWE.1 – 6 etc.
  • Meet Timing, Cost, Quality and Performance targets (MAN.3 support)
  • Plan program, set targets with stakeholders and track progress
  • Identify resource requirements and agree resource allocation with Team Leaders / Managers
  • Manage engineering risks and escalate as required to Programme Management
  • Ensure customer satisfaction (internal and external)
  • Coordinate prototype and Lead Software related  testing (SWE.5 & SWE.6)
  • Ensure efficient information flow internally and externally and manage Stakeholders
  • Manage Suppliers and engineering partners (ACQ.4)
  • Plan and carry out reviews and sign-offs (GKN internal and with suppliers).

Who you’ll be:

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Mechatronics or equivalent   
  • More than 8 years Engineering experience in  Automotive Software  / Electronics  
  • Good knowledge of A-Spice, especially MAN.3 and MAN.5, but also SPL.2, SUP.8, SUP.9, SUP.10, ACQ.4 and SWE.1 - 6 
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 26262            

Additional Key essential Skills

  • Overall 5+ years of Industry experience with an Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Information Technology or Mechatronics
  • Shall have managed SW development programs for minimum last 3 years (preferably AUTOSAR based)
  • Automotive SW Know How (e.g. Communication Protocols, Diagnostics, AUTOSAR, MISRA, ASPICE ...)
  • 16-32 bit Microcontroller (example - Infineon AURIX) Family experience
  • Development experience with Embedded C
  • SW Quality process knowhow
  • PMP, GPMA Certification – added advantage
  • Strong Risk Management knowhow
  • Planning toolchain knowhow (like MS Project and Windchill Integrity, Polarion, Jira or others) & SW Development methodology knowhow (e.g.: Agile SW Development)
  • Experience in complex projects with multi-core implementation, ASIL D, complex process landscape, challenging project timing is a strong benefit
  • Knowledge of agile SW development like Scrum, SAFe, LeSS are an advantage
  • Knowledge of configuration management
