Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the manufacturing engineering manager, provide enginering support to project launch teams, site engineering teams, project engineers, and operations to assist in on-site problem solving.
  • Support assembly line process with software updates for Global A / Global B OEM and company software systems
  • Understand and drive CAN-bus communication at End of line testing and data colletion systems. 
  • Lead the analyses of diagnotics trouble codes or system issues faced by OEM’s / customers in their facilites.  Understand and resolve how these codes impact the plant operations
  • Support and develop DFMEA / MFMEA / PFMEA for standard operations and day to day processes with new and existing product in the plant
  • Support the release of ECU subsystem to the customer during development of software, calibrations, and ECU hardware
  • Provide engineering support to ensure robust change management in C and D phases for assigned programs.  Generate VAVE ideas to provide savings and improvements for the site and the company
  • Periodically work with vehicle calibration group to stay aligned on new products and to become fimiliar with issues that occur during development that may also carry over to production and field issues
  • Support warranty issues from the warranty group and dealerships.  Utilizing the skills and knowledge of the plant to ensure quality production in the plant to the customer
  • Support the application software, electronic, and vehicle integration teams on high level ECU subsystems development between the plant and the support functions like vehicle integration, controls, software, ECU, HIL, and systems.
  • Improve NRFT in production processes related to software and end of line testing
  • Support functional prototype builds related to software releases / updates while managing ECU updates improvements and changes in product or software

Detailed Description

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • BS Computer Engineering Degree, BS Systems Engineering Degree, or BS Electrical Engineering Degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the development and maintenance of an automotive mechatronic system

 

Essential Competencies:

  • Complex Problem solving
  • Knowledge of Automotive Diagnostic system
  • Vehicle Diagnostics trouble codes
  • Vehicle and system CAN communications
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and electrical control modules
  • Provide functional safety oversite related to ECU and Vehicle software and systems
