GKN Automotive Hungary:

It is a truly exciting time to join us at GKN Automotive in Hungary. We are building a new manufacturing facility on the outskirts of Miskolc which will primarily include assembly, and office accommodation. Until the site is complete in the summer of 2023, we will be based near Miskolc University.

Our Miskolc facility will represent an important regional facility for the driveline technologies that GKN Automotive supply to our global customer base and in phase-1, we will employ up to 500 people from the local community in 2023, and will continue to develop the site over time in further phases in line with our ambition to double (or even triple!) the scale of our site.

The Role:

We are seeking a Site Services Maintenance Manager to join our team.

Detailed Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee an operational area with guidance from senior colleagues
  • Manage and deliver required site maintenance services under the leadership of senior colleagues
  • Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team
  • Monitor and review performance against Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) KPIs
  • Contribute to the development of annual or short-term business plans
  • Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team
  • Develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Help management to implement quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous operational improvements
  • Develop medium- or long-term work schedules that enable the organization to achieve its business goals
  • Carry out engineering inspections
  • Work within established knowledge management systems to deliver pre-set outcomes for areas of responsibility

Requirements:

  • Higher technical education
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar position in an international company (automotive industry is preferred)
  • Ability to manage teams of people and plan work
  • Planning and organizing skills 
  • Problem solving skills
  • Decision-making and negotiation skills
  • Very good knowledge of English and Hungarian (both written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of standards and regulations in the field of infrastructure management (energy, heating, ventilation, fire protection equipment, etc.)
  • Open to travel
