Detailed Description

What you’ll do

Manage and contribute to projects (Process Engineering/ Product Engineering) through complete life cycle including Concept, Design, Development, and Implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various functions to conceptualize, write, and execute Capital Projects
  • Design manufacturing/assembly cells – layout, capacity, material handling, equipment selection using Engineering and lean principles
  • Write RFQs’, technical - Scope of Work for plant / equipment relayout / installation.
  • Collaborate with PUR to help with SNC/SSR processes - Identify suppliers, quote, evaluate competitive bids & final selection and award of project
  • Prepare project timelines, associated tasks, budget and communicate with all stakeholders to get buy in ensuring completion of objectives – (Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery)
  • Ensure on time completion per project timelines thru effective management of supplier resources (riggers/ electricians).  
  • Design and develop equipment, tooling, jigs, and fixtures
  • Research, develop, and implement new processes and technologies as required by product design and business objectives
  • Support deployment of GKN Corporate initiatives/Compliance to GKN DES procedures
  • Analyze, test, and execute countermeasures by utilizing problem-solving methodologies
  • Understand and practice Lean Manufacturing concepts in the business and manufacturing environments

About you

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree from an Accredited Institution, or 5+ years of Industrial Engineering Experience in lieu of a Degree
  • 5-7 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with demonstrated proficiency in CNC programming, tool and gauge design, and cold forming processes
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and efficiently at all levels inside and outside the organization

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • 5-7 years of experience in an automotive machining environment with demonstrated excellence and creativity in the items above
  • Experience in automation design for material handling and gauging, machine tool selection, and Creo 3D Modeling
