Job Summary

Job Description


Manage the execution of one or more cat 3 and/or cat 2 programmes for Automotive products, ensuring adherence to the GKN Automotive Customer Application Programme Management (CAPM) process, to deliver approved targets i.e. time, quality and programme finances.

Establish the Programme Management (PM) organization, including the core team. Set appropriate programme team structure up in iPM, and status tracking in the Programme Directory. Keep all relevant online PM systems updated throughout programme execution.

Using the PM Kick-off meeting, ensure that all relevant information is reviewed by the PM core team, including approved programme targets, specific customer requirements, product & process deviations, previous concern history (including Product Safety requirements) relating to the customer and products to be launched.

Lead progress of all PM activities, including Action Lists, Risk Management, Change Management, VA/VE, Concern Management, Lessons Learned and KHT activities (when required) to ensure approved programme targets are achieved. Ensure storage of programme documentation in iShare workspace to facilitate information sharing within the programme team.

Detailed Description

Lead the programme financial management activities to ensure :-

Identification, assessment & approval of any changes (internal VAVEs, external customer or supplier requests) which must then be executed in a controlled manner to benefit the programme financially
Track & control product costs, any tooling & investment (ensuring timely customer recovery when appropriate) and development costs throughout the programme.


Ensure management is kept aware of progress against approved targets, following the defined governance around programme status reporting & gateways.


Define, and maintain as living on-line control documents in iPM, a comprehensive PM timing Plan and Risk Management Plan, ensuring alignment with customer vehicle development and APQP requirements.


Together with the Account Team, lead the management of the customer interface to ensure GKN Automotive business objectives are met during launch.

Necessary skill and experience

1. 5 years or more of continuous service as an employee of GKN Driveline Japan
2. Grade C4 to C6 or M1 class (for Japan local)
3. Interested in program management
4. Those who understand and practice GKN Value & Behavior (values and behaviors), or those who are making efforts to practice it.
5. Have the ability to communicate effectively and make the necessary efforts to communicate with others.
6. computer skills in MS Office.
