Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Preparation / instrumentation of demonstrator vehicles, to include:        
  • Installation, retrofitting and removal of parts, components and systems in the vehicle..
  • Installation of measurement equipment in cooperation with technician of measurement technology.
  • Clearance/advise for vehicles for test activities and/or define and announce any restrictions (in close cooperation with head of department).
  • Execution of calibrations as required, typically via outside suppliers and maintain calibration tracking documentation.
  • Control all test vehicles concerning installed equipment and parts as well as driving safety.
  • Verify vehicles are OK for test activities.  Call out any restrictions.
  • Oversight & coordination of all VE shop equipment maintenance, service and repair.
  • Oversight of all service and repair measures done at own shop floor or external.
  • Oversight and inventory of measurement equipment.
  • Oversight of all fleet vehicle maintenance and repair work.
  • Oversight responsibility for calibration of measurement equipment 
  • Execute objective vehicle benchmarking exercises autonomously.
  • Execute test procedures and measurements.
  • Provide mentoring and KHT to technicians and interns new to department.
  • Ensure EHS standards are followed, maintained and improved.
  • Offsite test support for test vehicles as required.
  • Support engineering and maintenance with production end of line test equipment
  • Offer production support as needed
  • Perform product audits on production parts
  • Ensure work area meets safety and housekeeping guidelines

Detailed Description

Qualification and Skills:

  • Capable in standard PC based software like PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Valid Drivers License
    • A.S. in Engineering (Mechanical Motorsport or related engineering discipline)
    • Understanding of Axles / Transmission, Driveline, and Powertrain systems

Specific Functional Competencies, Knowledge and Skills Required:

•  Ability to Analytically Solve Problems with Statistics and Mathematics
•  Experience in Automotive or Related industry
•  Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills

Working Knowledge of Head Acoustics, Signal X system, AB Dyanamics System, and or PLATO systems.
