Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and use information in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to quantify incoming material needs, set receipt due dates, order materials from suppliers, follow through and ensure receipt of materials in a way that enables production cells to run without interruption due to material shortage and to maintain adequate, established finished goods inventories
  • Develop and maintain Plan for Every Part (PFEP)
  • Maintain adequate material inventory levels according to established targets
  • Maintain Bills of Material BOM & audit as needed per established processes to ensure
  • Attend ECR /ECO meetings and maintain awareness, ensure necessary changes in MRP systems for effective change management
  • Receive and verify supplier acceptance of orders and reconciles, resolves and escalates as needed issues with match of information in MRP Demand, Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs), Bills of Lading, and Physical Receipt Counts via scan-to-receive where system is capable
  • Track incoming material and supplier parts shipments as needed, countermeasuring and escalating any risk of failure to full, on-time receipt of ordered materials
  • Communicate and interface with suppliers to ensure demand information is accurate and verified and correctly entered and maintained in enterprise MRP and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems
  • Monitor and verify material receipts across all shifts as needed
  • Ensure part master data information and replenishment levels at Roxboro, pull and flow from 3PL and internal and external suppliers are adequately planned, set and working via MRP & eKanban replenishment systems as needed and where supplier systems are present
  • Minimize, communicate, countermeasure, and escalate supplier performance variation and failure to reliably and fully meet due date commitments
  • Implement, follow and improve material flow management processes, including the verification and reconcillation of discrepant or inaccurate material inventory  
  • Maintain supplier scorecard Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and work with suppliers to improve KPI performance results (Delivery Service Attainment, Supplier Deliver Rating, Inventory Levels, etc.)
  • Write procedures and document standards according to TS16949 and all other applicable requirements
  • Lead and assist to develop and implement lean principles as they relate to incoming material flow, including visual systems, kanban, demand flow / pull systems and others
  • Communicate effectively and with an appropriate sense of urgency across all departments in the plant and with suppliers regarding incoming material flow issues
  • Physically verify material stock in building and yard as needed
