Detailed Description

GKN Automotive Olesnica:
Established in 1996, we employ 1500 people across the 3 sites at our facilities in Olesnica and manage over 70 production lines. We’ve invested heavily in developing our state-of-the-art engineering centre and in recent years have completely transformed our forging and production facilities to ensure our teams have the tools and resources they need to succeed and thrive in our environment. This site represents an important regional facility for the driveline technologies that GKN Automotive supply to our global customer base and has been recognised via various external awards for excellence and innovation.

The Role:  

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and layout of Automotive sub-systems and components to build and maintain the bill of materials, including the update and maintenance of the Business System, Drawing Product Data Management (PDM) database and Team Data Management files, with direct input from customer or product engineering requirements
  • Create the documentation of the design process, calculation results and insert this documentation in the data management system
  • Make the correct clear design definition to ensure all functional requirements are met
  • Specify in detail required drawings, create, manipulate and maintain 3D CAD models and drawings for production level designs, assembly and manufacturing requirements, as well as concept, prototype and general design studies. Understanding and use of the GD&T, GPS required
  • Optimizing of products, parts and analyzing of reports and documentation
  • Set up of calculations, weight, tolerances, balance point, torsional stiffness, mass inertia, etc.
  • Investigating different design scenarios by using draft models, and CAD attached CAE
  • Follow all standards (DIN / ISO/ GKN) and modeling methodology. Strong emphasis on accuracy and data quality
  • Work as part of the Automotive team to carry out activities to reduce internal and external costs e.g., VA/VE and manufacturing process changes
  • Support of Manufacturing, Quality and Account on design issues

Who you’ll be:

To be successful in this position, you will have proven experience in the design of driveline mechatronic system components and CAD Tool (Creo, Catia.)

Specific Functional Capabilities, Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Degree of Engineering Sciences in the fields of mechanics or equivalent
  • GD&T, GPS
  • Manufacturing process knowledge
  • Good communication skills
  • Leadership skills

Language Skills: Polish, English, German would be an advantage
