Implementation of commodity strategies and supporting the development and continuous improvement of those strategies. Achieve and exceed regional Commodity QCD Performance targets across all programme phases, to improve competitiveness of GKN Automotive.

Detailed Description

What will you do?

Strategy and Deployment

  • Support the development of Commodity purchasing strategy for her/ his entire portfolio and implement the strategy for his / her area of responsibility;
  • Understand market trends to avoid risks and instead use the market in benefit of GKN to improve the procurement performance (QCD);
  • Support the development and implementation of the necessary supplier panel, to achieve QCD targets.

Suppliers QCD performances, Risk Management, Negotiation management

  • Achievement of QCD objectives for the Commodity;
  • Development of excellent negotiation plans, negotiations with strategic & core suppliers;
  • Manage critical situations appropriately. If required, take the lead to solve critical situations;
  • Deliver VAVE contribution and Innovation input of suppliers;
  • Measurement and monitoring of supplier performance to achieve QCD targets;
  • Pro-active risk identification and development of risk mitigation plans;
  • Ensure suppliers are supporting ESG initiatives to contribute to the environment and society.    

Management

  • Apply and share Best Practices, support the development of BIC;
  • Participate in, and lead if required, commodity actions with the regions;
  • Work closely together with regional Procurement Teams;
  • Ensure alignment of Regional Commodity network, (RB, RM) with Automotive strategy.    

Reporting and System

  • Ensure transparency and accuracy of data in the procurement systems;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal & external standards, policies (in particular DoA) and applicable regulations in her / his area of responsibility;
  • Act with integrity and full respect of business ethics.

What are we looking for?

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Master/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a business, economics or engineering discipline;
  • Fluent in English, with an international mind set;
  • Minimum 7 years experience Procurement teams, thereof min 3 years in international Procurement teams in a global industrial / automotive environment;
  • Leader in problem solving and project approach;
  • Experienced with International matrix organization.

Essential Competencies

  • Leadership and charisma,
  • Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills at all levels,
  • Proven ability of team management and leadership,
  • Available to travel (up to 30% of working time),
  • Complex Negotiation skills.
